Scratch Teams Up with PsyComics for Heartwood

For the very first time in our publishing history here at Scratch Comics we are joining forces with another great independent publisher in the form of PsyComics.
This pooling of talents and resources has been initiated to produce the brand new folk horror series "Heartwood" by Hedrek co creator and writer Professor Laurence Alison MBE and Rogue Trooper artist Warwick Fraser-Coombe.
Actually set within the Hedrek Universe but occuring across the Atlantic, specifically northern Minesota, this hard hitting and thought provoking detective thriller introduces us to a native American police lieutenant named Sarah Heartwood, who goes up against not only a terrifying killer, but also a corrupt system.
Heartwood: The Less Dead is a brutal, hypnotic descent into a world where myth, madness, and murder collide. In the remote wilds of northern Minnesota, a series of grotesque deaths—priests torn apart, lovers transformed into beasts—signals the arrival of something far darker than a simple killer. Whispers of “666” echo through the trees, but the truth is more terrifying: predators hiding in plain sight, feeding on the forgotten.
